"No Romance in Concrete"
The first snow fall of the year blankets all the cars
and swaddles up the street.
Drifts idle, drifts prettily, in the streetlight's humble glow.
If snow could ever be warm or cozy,
it'd be right now in a moment like this.
No I've never heard your voice
but I can hear your breath rise and fall
hitching softly to a peak
as if it were the changing of a season.
I hope you sleep well tonight.
There's no romance in concrete.
