"Pop Goes the Daydream" [2023]

This is a poem about daydreaming,
typed and penned by yourself truly.
I humbly ask you
you don't call it trite
don't call it cliché.
This is meant to be an escape.
I'm getting desperate to be away.
If only for five whole minutes.
Ten if we're being generous.
Leave me be, leave me alone.
Let me daydream,
before the needle poke hereafter,
takes it all away.
